Playful Research

One of the 4 Play Pillars which guides the work of Australian Institute of Play, in conjunction with the Logan Play Action Plans. Research about play must be understood and undertaken to continue building a strong evidence base for to support the evidence of play.

The Australian Institute of Play is committed to building the case for more child-led free play by staying up to date with and sharing recent research, undertaking current research with academic partners and working closely with play academics to ensure best practice. The outcomes of these actions include demonstrating the impacts of play for all people (children and adults), as well as growing awareness of the essentialness, value and power of play to transform communities, build community pride and create positive narratives for all involved.

Program Evaluations

Guided by the 4 Play Pillars and Logan Play Action Plans, the Australian Institute of Play organises, supports and creates playful events and capacity building opportunities.

To ensure that the projects are high quality, and achieving the desired outcomes, the Australian Institute of Play has worked with independent evaluators. The evaluators from University of Queensland have reviewed Communites for Children and the overall Program efforts during its creation and transition from Community Active Partnerships to the Australian Institute of Play.
